At each game your Coach will need volunteers to help them manage a smooth, safe and fun event.    YOUTH volunteer positions are not difficult, and you may find them fun. Below is a description of the roles we will need parent volunteers to fill:

Home Games:

  1. Game Site/Field Administrator (on the parent sideline). New in 2020 to promote Sportsmanship.

    1. Must present himself/herself to the referee prior to the opening faceoff. (Failure to present a Game Site Administrator prior to the game. Any Unsportsmanlike conduct from the parent sideline will result in a 30 second penalty to the home team.)

    2. Administer the Sportsmanship Card.  Complete and provide to coach at the end of game selection of Sportsmanship.  Good and Need of improvement for both teams

  2. Time Clock (1 volunteer seated or standing at/near the table in the box – same side as the players)

    1. Keep game clock.

    2. Start clock on referee's whistle and stop clock for stoppages on referee's whistle (i.e., out of bounds, injuries, penalties, goals, timeouts)

    3. Sound horn at the end of the periods or when asked on a stoppage of play.

  3. Penalty Timekeeper – Score Keeper (1 volunteer seated at the table in the box - same side as the players)

    1. Keep track of penalty times (the referee will tell you the penalty time.)

    2. Release players when time is up.

    3. Keep track of the score and period of play.

  4. Stats Keeper (12U Parent ONLY; 1 volunteer seated at the table in the box - same side as the players)

    1. Track scoring player and team scores.

    2. Track ground balls, ground balls won, face offs won, shots on goal for and against, assists/player #, goals/player # and score.

    3. Record penalties by player number and time served.

    4. Notify referee when player has five fouls.

  5. Spotter (8U Parent ONLY); 1 or 2 volunteers seated or standing behind the table in the box - same side as the players)

    1. Call out player number and action (e.g., ground ball, shot on goal, assist, etc...) for Stats Keeper volunteer to record.

  6. Field Set Up (2 volunteers to assist with field set up prior to the first game of the day)

    1. Assist in setting up the goals.

    2. Assist in setting up the field cones marking the field of play, player and penalty boxes.

    3.  Assist in setting up extra balls along the end lines.

    4.  Field Tear Down (2 volunteers to assist with field tear down after the last game of the day)

    5. Return goals and lock them up

    6. Gather up cones and balls and return them to the game bag in the penalty box.

    7.  Police the field for any leftover trash.

 

Visitor Games

  1. Stats Keeper (12U Parent ONLY); 1 volunteer seated at the table in the box - same side as the players)

    1. Track scoring player and team scores.

    2. Track ground balls, ground balls won, face offs won, shots on goal for and against, assists/player #, goals/player # and score.

    3. Record penalties by player number and time served.

    4. Notify referee when player has five fouls.
